Take Control of Your Fight Against Cancer

Discover the powerful benefits of food as medicine with evidence-based nutrition

without confusion, overwhelm, and most of all discouragement!

If you’re on a cancer journey, in remission, a caretaker, or someone looking to reduce your chances of developing cancer, then you already KNOW the path is not easy. It’s an emotional and physical one that takes a lot of hard work and growth.

You've probably heard a healthy lifestyle can play a role in reducing treatment side effects, improve outcomes, and decrease the risk of recurrence. Since you know that, you know the importance of taking control of your nutrition.

After all, research suggests 1 in 3 cancers are a result of diet.1

HERE'S WHAT YOU

MIGHT NOT KNOW

Even if you are lucky enough to have an excellent cancer care team and supportive family and friends, understanding how nutrition impacts cancer is most likely not part of the journey.

However, implementing proper nutrition means:

~Food Can Be Fuel~

Depending on what you put in your mouth, you’re either causing disease or fighting it. We’ll dive into the difference between disease-causing and disease-fighting foods, which can dramatically change your body’s ability to fight and can impact your loved ones' health too!

~A Long, Healthy Life, Feeling Strong~

A long, independent life filled with plenty of birthday parties and watching your children (and even grandchildren) getting married is possible. Implementing a healthy lifestyle can dramatically increase your chances of being there for the best things in life.

~You Can Gain Control of Your Destiny~

You don't have to leave it all up to chance. You can take some of that control back. One day at a time, one meal at a time. And fight back.

~Controlling Inflammation~

Research shows inflammation is the root cause of several diseases, including cancer. Learning how to reduce inflammation gives you the best chance of preventing disease in the first place and managing it early.

Even though the motivation to overcome cancer (or prevent it) is clear, the path to actually doing it is anything but.

BEAT CANCER? Let’s Do It!

But where do I start?

We All Know It Won't Be Easy

It’s not easy when all your energy has gone into your cancer treatments... dozens of doctor appointments...not to mention all of your other life responsibilities.

You’ve done some nutrition research, but you find so many different resources sharing differing opinions. Don’t eat soy. Eat soy. Don’t eat sugar. Don’t eat legumes… Wait, I thought beans were healthy? Who can keep up?

Maybe you even reached out to your doctors, inquiring how nutrition could complement your treatments. But they’re at a loss, or you didn’t feel confident in his or her answer.

Once you complete your treatment, you wonder, “What’s next?” Cancer took control of your life, but you’re finally ready to make sure it never, ever takes over again.

Most importantly, you don’t want your loved ones, your husband or wife or your children, ever to have to hear the words “you have cancer” like you had to.

You Can’t Afford to Have Cancer to Come Back – So How Do You Take the Next Step?

You feel a lack of clarity around what foods cause disease. You feel as though you will always be a cancer victim (or that you’re doomed to be one).

You hear all the health gurus say, “Just don’t do this” or “Do that.” But it’s not that easy, is it? Years of habits can’t change overnight.

The moment you feel like you “messed up” or ate the wrong thing, you feel like it’s impossible to go back. You have never pictured yourself as someone who can successfully live a healthy lifestyle.

You feel as though you have to be PERFECT.

But that is precisely why you need someone to share the WHY, WHAT, and HOW.

The ‘I Can Fight’ Mindset You Need to March On (and reduce your risk of developing cancer and/or recurrence)

Let’s pretend you already completed your radiation and/or chemotherapy treatments. Your surgery is over. You walk out of the cancer center wondering what’s next.

When you implement a healthy lifestyle, you have the opportunity to take control of something that has the power to take you to new and exciting places!

WHY NOTHING HAS WORKED IN THE PAST

Even though there are hundreds of thousands of health professionals claiming they can help you gain a healthy lifestyle, they simply tell you WHAT to eat: “Eat x cups of broccoli a day. Don’t eat deli meat”.

But you ask, “Why broccoli? How do I cook it so it tastes good? And what does deli meat have to do with my cancer?”

While well intentioned, their approach doesn’t actually give you the tools to make a sustainable shift in your lifestyle. In the end, it can make you feel more lost.

What you need is someone to teach you about evidence-based research in an easy-to-understand manner, someone who can provide access to healthy meal planning, recipes, healthy substitutions, tips, tricks, and sustainable changes to put you on the path back to wellness

The key to marching on is education around the what, the why, and how, to implement a plant-based (or plant-focused) lifestyle.

Introducing

A comprehensive digital program that teaches evidence-based information about nutrition and cancer AND how to implement a plant-based lifestyle while meeting nutrition needs to support your health once you’ve been diagnosed with cancer, or to help prevent it in the first place.

Meet Alison - Oncology Dietitian

I have spent many years training to become an oncology dietitian, achieving my master of science, becoming a certified specialist in oncology nutrition, and teaching other registered dietitians working towards their master’s degrees.

My passion and dedication have allowed me to teach hundreds of patients how to make positive changes in their life. Most of them now have no evidence of disease and are living healthy lives.

Freedom from Cancer:

Your Plant-Based Journey

Is the ONLY program of its kind that…

~Teaches Evidence-Based Research~

Teaches the currently available research that demonstrates which foods are disease-causing and which are disease-fighting.

~Is an All-in-One Resource for Cancer Nutrition~

Since oncology nutrition is a specialty practice, it is rare for a medical professional to receive in-depth education on the topic. We believe this course fills that gap and is also perfect for the average person.

~Gives You the Tools to Implement Sustainable Changes~

It doesn’t only share what to do, but why and how to confidently implement it in your own way, at your own pace.

If you are finally ready to take control of your life with proper nutrition, here’s how we’ll get you there…

"I loved the course, from beginning to end! I can’t say enough good things about the content, the progression of information, and the resources. I loved the format. The style of presentation was fabulous - it was scientific without putting me to sleep (too much detail will do that). I know, while I do not have to be perfect, I should be consistent with good choices. "

Let's Break Down the Course:

Module 1 - Why You’re Here

As we mentioned earlier, 1 in 3 cancers are a result of diet. That's why we’re going to break down how the Standard American Diet (SAD) promotes disease. Unless you dig into this, you may continue habits that could increase your chances for disease instead of reducing them. Then, we explore what a plant-based diet is and isn’t. We'll:

  • Dive into shocking statistics related to the SAD
  • Review overall recommendations provided by the American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR)
  • Discover why most physicians are lacking nutrition education
  • Red-, yellow-, and green-light foods to guide your nutrition choices

Module 2 - The Problem

Although we discuss the SAD diet in module one, we are going to dive into the key players impacting your cancer journey. Even if you have heard of limiting your red meat intake, we’ll share how it affects your body. When we don't understand the fundamentals of nutrition and how they play a role, it's more difficult for us humans to eliminate or avoid the foods we have come to love.

  • Learn how inflammation plays a role in cancer and about the two different types of cancer. Understanding these will help you better understand the material you’ll review throughout our time together.
  • You will learn about IGF-1. It is a hormone naturally found in our bodies, BUT excess can lead to the development of cancer. We’ll present the research on what foods increase IGF-1.
  • What is found in dairy that increases the risk of cancer? This includes the sex steroid hormones estrogen and 5-alpha-P. We’ll also touch on acne, mTOR, and how to naturally fight excess hormones.
  • You will learn the research on why processed and red meat is linked to cancer and other chronic diseases. We’ll also discuss common questions regarding “healthy” deli meats, even if they say “no nitrates added,” and will talk about iron found in meat.
  • Understand the connection between cancer and poultry and fish. We’ll also discuss contaminants found in fish, which is a growing concern.
  • Eggs are easy to cook up, but we need to share why evidence strongly points to limiting your intake when it comes to disease prevention.
  • You’ll want to know the truth behind this critical question in nutrition and cancer. To make sure you aren’t depriving yourself of some of the best things in life, we’ll unfold the real connection between sugar and cancer.
  • Even though many want to shy away from it, talking about the connection between alcohol and cancer is a must. Don’t worry, we don’t believe in deprivation.

Module 3: The Solution

While the second module seems to limit the possibilities of what food you can enjoy, we promise you’re in for a delicious ride. Food categories within the solution actually open your world to new possibilities and flavors; it also provides POWERFUL benefits for your cancer journey or decreases your risk.

  • Phytochemicals have some of the most most powerful cancer-fighting properties available, and they are found in our food! Alison dives into this important concept since these chemicals play a vital role in fighting cancer.
  • Don’t be fooled by some of the trending diets out there embedding the belief that carbohydrates are bad. They actually contain the highest amount of phytochemicals! Alison reviews the carbohydrates we want to consume.
  • As you can imagine, vegetables are an essential part of a cancer-fighting diet. We’ll put a spotlight on cruciferous vegetables and greens because of the powerful punch they give cancer.
  • Protein, protein, protein. Protein is all the hype these days, but what many don’t know is that high amounts of protein, specifically animal protein, are actually harmful to our health. Together, we’ll learn how to estimate your protein needs and how to meet those needs.
  • Chances are you’ve heard the myth that soy increases the risk of cancer, particularly breast cancer. In fact, soy contains protective qualities against cancer. Alison takes a deep dive into this controversial topic to help you decide whether you should include soy or not in your cancer-fighting diet.
  • Fat is a macronutrient, meaning it provides calories and is one of the three major nutrients in the diet. However, similar to protein, fat is being consumed in too-high amounts. Alison reviews the research on fat in the diet, and identifies the best sources of fat in a cancer-fighting diet.
  • If consuming an exclusively plant-based diet, where will you get your calcium? Iron? What about other nutrients and minerals? We’ll discuss the ones you need to live a long and healthy life.
  • Should you eat only organic food? Do organic foods have more nutrients? We’ll walk you through the research to help you decide what your approach will be.

Module 4 - Implementation

How in the world do you take everything you learned in this course and implement it without feeling overwhelmed? You make small changes that work for YOU and your life. You can’t let perfection be the enemy of progress.

  • We get it, making these changes may be the hardest part of this process. We’re sharing our favorite, practical tips to help you experience an effective transition towards a plant-based lifestyle.
  • We share some of our favorite resources (mostly free!) to get you going and stay on track.

The Wholesome Guarantee

At Wholesome, our goal is always to be sincere, up front. So, let us say this…

Freedom from Cancer is a comprehensive digital program that provides evidence-based information about nutrition and cancer AND how to implement a plant-based lifestyle. The program is designed for those who are COMMITTED to making changes in their life. There is no commitment to become entirely plant-based, the goal is for you to absorb the information and make decisions that are right for you, and your family.

At this point, we have shared as much of the course as possible, without an actual log-in. And we know it can be a little intimidating to invest in something “behind closed doors.” That is why we have the Wholesome Guarantee.

When you enroll, you have 30 days from the date of purchase to feel completely confident the course provides what we said it would. If you feel as though you would like a refund, simply email Lauren at [email protected] within 30 days. We’ll set up a time to chat via phone or video to discuss why the course isn’t holding up to our promise (we definitely need to know where we went wrong). In the end, it’s a 30-day Wholesome Money-back guarantee, but we don’t like to give it titles like that.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Our Most Successful Students Asked Before Joining

Yes, this course is also built for those who want to decrease their risk of developing cancer, as it teaches using nutrition as a preventative tool. It is also for those who are currently in cancer treatment or seeking to prevent a recurrence.

Wholesome seeks to educate not only those who seek a 100% plant-based diet, but also those who are plant-curious and looking to adopt a healthier lifestyle to reduce one’s risk of cancer and other chronic diseases.

We think of our course as a self-investment. Let’s reframe this cost. It is the equivalent of about 6 months' worth of cable. And it would take almost 16 individual Wholesome sessions to get through the material presented in the course.

Plus, keep in mind, newly approved cancer drugs cost, on average, $10,000 per month.2 But a course like this may also have life-saving benefits.

You will have lifetime access to Freedom from Cancer. You will be able to reference anything you want, whenever you want.

We designed the course online so you can take it at your own pace. Each person will most likely complete it in different timeframes. We have had some students complete it in a matter of days, and others a matter of weeks to months.

Because you have lifetime access, if the course is updated in any way, you will have access to any new and updated material. We will notify program participants via email when course updates become available.

With the Commission on Dietetic Registration, the accrediting body for Registered Dietitians, CSOs are required to have 2,000 hours of clinical practice in an oncology care setting and must sit for the CSO board exam. The board certification is granted in recognition of a dietitian’s practiced experience and successful passing of an examination in the oncology field. CSOs must complete and pass the board exam every five years.

All recipes are dietitian-approved, plant-based, and are based on YOUR individual preferences. You can choose the length of time you have to prepare the meal, what tools you have in the kitchen, and your cooking skills. Beyond that, you can add any allergies, intolerances, or dislikes so those ingredients are eliminated from your entire menu plan. Our program also goes a step further, creating a grocery list for you AND even links up with Instacart and AmazonFresh for grocery delivery if you so choose.

While there is an abundance amount of information on the internet, our course incorporates only the most credible and reliable sources of information. The course is built by a Registered Dietitian with years of experience and board certification in Oncology Nutrition. Furthermore, Alison explains complicated medical research in a way a non-medical professional can understand.

Based on our research, this is the only course of its kind. Alison’s ability to teach complex analysis in an easy-to-understand manner is particularly uncommon in the medical industry. Additionally, this course does not merely tell you what to do. It also shares WHY and HOW.
